All my life I struggled to control the inner chatter... Only to find that the inner chatter cannot be controlled...
I can only be present to it... Watch it as a bystander...
When I am the bystander, it does not impact me...
It only effects me when I engage in the chatter rather than watching the chatter happening inside me...
When I started relating to the chatter as something that is happening and that it has a purpose and I need to watch it and be with it, I am free of it...
However, the process of disengaging myself from the chatter is a long and tedious one...
Only if one is committed to be free can one really be free...
